page came about following a letter from Sylvia to the GuestBook. I
contacted her and she sent details of her grandfather and his brother
both of whom were born in Cornwall and eventually joined the Coastguard
and served elsewhere. A number of other people have sent in details of
family members who having been born in Cornwall and joined either the
Customs, Excise, Coastguard or Preventative service and served
