Penberthy's Terrace, St, Just:
Henry PENBERTHY, aged 45, Coast Guard, with Lucy Ann PEMBERTHY, aged 9 and
John PENBERTHY, aged 4;  and Jane WARREN, aged 70, WLS.

Henry PENBERTHY was a Coast Guard of Trewellard, St Just in 1851


The following came from Deanne White:

My great grandfather Joseph Phillips was a coastguard at Par Cornwall. His details as far as I have been able to establish are as follows:-
He is listed as in the coastguard service living in Par Green in 1871 (Census RG10/2259 Folio 52 page 6) along with many others in the coastguard service. He was born in Haverfordwest Pembrokeshire in 1836. By 1881 he had become a chief seaman instructor on the training vessel "Arethusa" which I believe was moored on the Medway in Kent. Later he was an instructor on HMS Worcester, the Thames Nautical Training College moored at Greenhithe, Kent. My mother also believed that he had at one time, perhaps before 1871, been a coastguard at Sennen Cove but I have not been able to verify this as yet.
